Just-In: INEC 1.5bn Website Hacked Few Hours After CBN’s

The official website of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has been hacked.

The website which was reportedly built with N1.5 billion was attacked on Saturday morning, October 17, just few hours after the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria became inaccessible.

CBN has however debunked claim that its website has been hacked.

At the moment, INEC is yet to explain what happened to the website, reports, however, claimed that the hacking was done by the Anonymous, a group of International hackers in its coordinated cyberattacks against Nigerian Government.

The action was taken as the legend hackers ramp up cyberattacks on Nigerian government Internet assets, to challenge the government over bad governance, demand police reform and also show solidarity with patriotic Nigerians on various streets across the country protesting for a better nation.
