Eze (chief) Chris Offia (ksm) palace went agog as two powerful honourable members of Lagos state house of assembly paid Royal visit on Saturday, June 4th 2020.  Indeed Saturday-June 4th 2020 is a day that will remain indelible in the minds of the entire Ndigbo in Ibeju Lekki Lagos. Playing host to two powerful house of Assembly members, Lagos state in persons of Hon. Sir (Dr) Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 11 and Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola representing Ibeju Lekki constituency 1 is not an easy task to achieve by Ndigbo in Ibeju Lekki Lagos State.

An event which was put together by EZE Udo Ibeju Lekki in the person of Chief Chris Offia (KSM) -the Okosisi 1 of Egede kingdom Enugu state who is also the Onowu of Egede kingdom and his indefatigable Eze cabinet being chaired by Chief (Dr) Chuks Okosi (FCA) and in conjunction with Ohanaeze Ibeju lekki under the interim chairmanship of Chief Anabuike Joseph was well attended in the midst of strict observance to COVID-19 rules as directed by NCDC.

The August visitors were highly elated by the large and qualitative turn out of Ndigbo who thronged the palace to welcome them with open arms. Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola while thanking the Igbo community in Ibeju lekki for their massive support and partnership encouraged them to champion unity amongst all Ndigbo in Ibeju Lekki in order to build a formidable front that will attract more benefits to the generality of Ndigbo. He reminded Ndigbo that as politics is a game of numbers which Ndigbo already has, there is a need to unite together as one family. He assured Ndigbo of unalloyed support from not only his constituency but the entire Lagos state.

Hon. (Dr) Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu (KSM) who incidentally is the new Apex leader of Ndigbo in APC Lagos state expressed his abundant joy with Ndigbo in Ibeju lekki and Lagos state in general. He earnestly appealed to all Ndigbo in Lagos to join hands with Lagos state government to move the state forward. He went further to explain how accommodating, loving and prosperous Lagos state has been to Ndigbo. The kind gestures, freedom and opportunities that abound in Lagos state cannot be found in any other place in Nigeria and beyond. He assured further that if only Ndigbo can trust him enough to lead them to the mainstream of Lagos politics, it will be the best thing to happen to Ndigbo in Nigeria. He also eulogized the National leader of APC in the person of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu- the Jagaban of the whole world who is the greatest political strategist in Nigeria today and having understood the strength and power of Ndigbo in Lagos state is ever willing to partner with Ndigbo for greater participation and progress.


In response to the appeals and assurances of the two Honourable members, Chief Chris Offia (Eze Udo Ibeju lekki) , Chief (Dr) chuks Okosi ( chairman Eze in council) and Chief Anabuike Joseph (Ohanaeze Interim Chairman-Ibeju lekki ) on behalf of Ndigbo ibeju lekki promised to mobilize Ndigbo in Ibeju lekki and Lagos state by extension to join hands with other Igbo stakeholders to support Lagos state government in all ramifications. They also used the opportunity to thank Hon. Fatai for appointing an Igbo man in the person of Mr Chukwuma Ogbonnaya who is also the Ohanaeze youth leader in Ibeju lekki as a special Assistant to him and many other supports he has been extending to Ndigbo in Ibeju lekki. Dr chuks further praised the honourable members that for them to visit at this time when no election is forthcoming implies sincerity of purpose and assured them of Ndigbo support.

Another important dignitary in the person of Eze Dr Chris Nwachukwu (JP) who is the chairman of the council of Ndi-Eze Ndigbo Lagos state joined Ndigbo Ibeju lekki to appreciate the two Honourable members for taking out time to visit Ndigbo. He assured further that with the leadership of the new apex leader in the person of Hon. Idimogu, Ndigbo will reach the promised land in Lagos state.

On the final note the two Reverend Fathers who are the Parish Priests of St. Pio catholic church Ibeju lekki prayed for everyone and most especially the leaders who pledged financial support towards the church projects. While Hon. Jude pledged the sum of N500,000 towards the construction of parish priest house in addition to many more supports, Hon. Fatai who despite being a Moslem pledged not only financial assistance but construction materials towards the project. The highly elated parish priest in the person of Rev. Father Martins called down God’s blessings upon the kind-hearted Honourable members of Lagos state house of assembly.

Other important dignitaries who attended the occasion include Chief (Dr) George-Dike oha ibeju lekki who acted as the moderator of the event, Chief Jude Okere (KSM), the Onowu of Ibeju lekki, Chief Silas okonkwo, Mrs charity ibe-woman leader, Prince innocent obi, chief udumiri, chief lambart mbekwe, chief nwajiaku Ernest, chief Ezechi okwudili, chief chibueze Okechukwu, chief Dennis chime, chief basil Adimorah, Mr chibueze nwoye, chief franklin chime, chief uche Abraham-Eze abata 1 of Ibejulekki, chief ebubedike. Others dignitaries in the entourage of the honourable members and Ndi Eze  include Chief Ezennia S. Uuije-Eze Udo Ndigbo Ajeromi, Nwanyi chi na awara-oji, Mrs Comfort Orji- Hon. Supervisor for women affairs and poverty alleviation, Eti-osa LGA and many more.
